Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway® is really the only way to approach ANYTHING that holds you back. Be it fear or any number of sad or awkward feelings. It is so true that the awesome Susan Jeffers made it the title of her landmark book. Getting past fear, trampling on it really, is the only way to go. You said it perfectly in the sentence, "And there is no better time than RIGHT NOW to put your assertions out there, fearful or not, and stand up strong in your conviction." The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to start. Thanks for the excellent post and the reminder to Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway®

I like this. How true! We keep trying to pretend that an ugly reality doesn't exist instead of acknowledging it, looking it squarely in the proverbial eye, and saying, "Okay, now we're gonna do something new!" So many of us are so perfectionistic that we we can't get immediate results, we focus on those small things we can control. Slow and steady, but consistent focus ... the name of the game. And one day or week of being sidetracked doesn't mean it's the end of the road. Thanks, Jay.

I made it to the 3rd paragraph and got a lump in my throat, chills down my back and tears in my eyes. I felt like you were describing me. I can so relate to many things you say, and I thank you for your honesty and inspiration. Team Jacobs lives in my heart..I just cant explain it. I look forward to your mental messages and for what its worth I found myself in Target the other day talking out loud to myself and some stranger caught me haha! xoxo

Hi Kim,
I too went to FR for a month in Utah. I signed up back in December and had to wait 6 months so I started losing on my own and to date am down 55 lbs. Don't you just love Fitness Ridge? I will be going back to Utah next April 29th for a week with a friend who really needs it. Check out my blog if you want, I've been blogging since April and included all the pics of the hikes and food and fun. Since I've been home I have written about running 5Ks and struggles and victories I've had. www.biggestloserbound.blogspot.com Congratulations on going to the Ridge and tell Jay this past season was the season that 'got me off the couch' I'm forever grateful!
